Includes the following webinars & documents:
  • #1 - Breaking Down the Structure of the Nacha Operating Rules & Guidelines
    • Description: Have you ever struggled to know where to look in the Nacha Operating Rules & Guidelines to find more information about a topic you’re trying to research? During this session, we break down the structure of the rulebook to help illustrate how the Operating Rules are laid out, how the Guidelines are laid out, and which topics are covered in which areas. The session also includes a group activity to test your knowledge about where you would look to learn more about different concepts.
#2 - Overview of the Nacha Rulemaking Process and Recently Approved Rules
    • Description: We often hear discussions about revisions to the Nacha Operating Rules, but do you understand the process of how rulemaking works in the ACH Network? During this session, we discuss how new Nacha Operating Rules are developed. We also explore 11 of the 15 revisions to the Nacha Operating Rules approved by Nacha’s voting membership on March 15, 2024 (excluding newly approved rules becoming effective in 2026). The session also includes a group activity to test your knowledge about concepts related to the AAP Exam.
#3 - Breaking Down Return Reason and Notification of Change Codes
    • Description: The Nacha Operating Rules contain 70 different return reason codes and 19 different Notification of Change (including Refused Notification of Change) codes. With so many different codes, it can be challenging to remember which code is best to use in each situation. During this session, we break down many of the most used return reason and Notification of Change codes, including discussion about their applicable time frames. This session includes a group activity to test your knowledge about which return reason code is most appropriate in given situations.
  • #4 - ACH by the Numbers
    • Description: What do 24 hours, two Banking Days, three Banking Days, and seven years all have in common? They are all time frames that apply to various aspects of ACH processing, and that’s exactly what we dive into during this session – a review of the various time frames that apply to things like record retention, stop payment requirements, processing return Entries, reducing return rate thresholds, and much more!
#5 - Case Studies: Nacha's System of Fines and Arbitration
    • Description: If you have never utilized Nacha’s System of Fines to submit a Report of Possible ACH Rules Violation, it might seem intimidating to know whether you should submit a report, what types of reports should be submitted, and whether submitting a report will resolve the problem you’re facing. During this session, we talk through real-life case studies that have been processed through Nacha’s System of Fines, and we wrap the case study review up with a look at an actual arbitration case and what the outcome was.
