Learn what internal controls are, their objectives, and how they align with organizational goals. We’ll explore the COSO Framework, including the Three Lines of Defense model, the COSO Focused Framework, and the COSO ERM Integrated Framework. This session also examines the control environment and emphasizes various types of risk assessments as critical components of a successful ERM strategy. Building on the foundational concepts, the second session dives into the practical application of controls. We'll review types of policy and procedural controls, financial controls, and technical controls used to mitigate risk. Attendees will gain insight into specific control strategies by payment type, including checks, ACH, cards, and wholesale funds transfers.
