Event Description
Payment exceptions, especially those related to resolving errors and reports of unauthorized activity, continues to be one of the most common themes of questions we receive at UMACHA. During this workshop, we will provide an overview of Reg E and consumer liability. We will focus on how a financial institution’s obligations under Reg E must be handled in conjunction with obligations under the Nacha Operating Rules, including requirements if a consumer reports unauthorized ACH debits that are beyond the 60-calendar day return timeframe – and how a financial institution can attempt to recover the funds and avoid taking a loss. ACH isn’t the only payment method included – we will include discussion about check, debit card, wire transfer, and even instant payment exceptions, too!
