During this series, you will gain insights about the types of scams faced by financial institutions and recommendations to help mitigate against the risk of becoming victim to these frauds.

Session Description: Derek Schmidt serves as the Payments Manager at Novation Financial in Oakdale, MN, bringing over 16 years of experience in the credit union industry across a variety of roles. In his current position, he manages the Debit/Credit portfolios, ATMs, Wires, and External Transfers. Derek will offer insights into fraud trends Novation is currently experiencing and measures they’ve taken to combat them. Fraud and fraud attempts happen each and every day. In this session we'll talk through some of the common fraud trends and steps Novation Credit Union has taken to mitigate the risk of fraud losses for the credit union and their members.
