There are still billions (yes, billions with a b) of checks processed each year, and dealing with fraud and non-fraud-related exceptions continues to be reported as a pain point for many financial institutions. Whether dealing with returns, adjustments, or claims related to fraud, there is a lot to try and keep up with for a payments operations professional. During this workshop, we will discuss the legal framework that sets forth the legal rights and responsibilities of the Bank of First Deposit and the Paying Bank, including the allocation of loss for different types of fraud claims.
